sticker

I made a travel-inspired water bottle sticker to spice up my Nalgene on adventures. I had a small batch of durable, waterproof stickers printed, which will make good souvenirs for anyone I may meet on my journeys!

guide to hk

I made a seven-day-guide to Hong Kong to be a companion for a friend of mine that had to brave 7-day quarantine. It's a little booklet with facts of Hong Kong, an anecdote on each page and an activity designed so it could be done from anywhere (especially inside a hotel room). I can't share the whole thing because it contains photographs that aren't mine but here's a sneak peek!

keep developing

A lot of what outdoor education is about is improving yourself by doing. I had the idea after a day out, developing a coasteering route, and came up with this design, giving 'developing' a double meaning. I still have yet to see this printed on a T-shirt...

tht iii

When out developing a coasteering route, a loose rock fell. I was going to throw it into the ocean, but when I picked it up I noticed it was satisfyingly flat. I pocketed it instead (shh) and decided to make a piece of artwork to commemorate our day out. I primed it and painted the scene and had to include our distinctive zipline over the ocean.

compass

I drew this from a photo taken on a camping trip with some friends. I drew it to be made into coasters for those very friends!

compass

This is the design featured on my flag which you can see here. I recreated it and changed the design so I could use on coasters as Christmas gifts. The drawing symbolizes some of my favorite events and places I visited during the year (are you spotting a pattern?).

tai mong tsai

When on a hike, I passed by this barbecue site on the coast of Sai Kung. It inspired me to draw it because there was something really comforting about the location that felt close to home. It reminded me of my time working in outdoor education, I could almost imagine my home base being someplace like that, an iconic Hong Kong scene.

star chart

I'm not much of a stargazer, but when I was living out in the country park, I was blown away by how many stars I could see (there's not many places in HK to see them because of light pollution!). I dabbled in reading star charts and I thought it would make a cool piece of artwork (that I eventually put on some coasters) that represents a significant time, date and place to me. Bonus points if you can read the Chinese characters!

calon and cariad

This was a birthday gift to both the doggies and their human. I painted this from a photograph that I took of them. I'm not the most confident painter, nor am I very good but it was a good challenge for me to really capture their lovely, distinct and beautiful souls.

gratitude

At the beginning of the pandemic, a friend of mine invited artists to contribute to a charity zine. The theme was Gratitude and this was my submission. I wanted to show my gratitude sensitively, and finding that connection with nature, a feeling I think many can relate to, was my way to do that. The photographs I used in my panel are from some beautiful scenes witnessed during a hard time for all. I coupled them with illustrations and a simple poem to share good vibes.

19th birthday

For my 19th birthday I had a music-themed celebration and I drew this poster as an invitation.

favorite things

I did this drawing in 2017. It was one of the first digital drawings I ever did after getting a graphics tablet. I drew a few of my favorite things and layered it over a photograph I took in Vancouver on a trip with my Dad. It holds a special place in my heart as the beginning of my little doodles.
